Jason Smith

Jason Smith is our President, Global Operations, responsible for ensuring seamless network and satellite operations for our customers and fulfilling our capacity and service commitments. He also leads our service assurance, field, and support teams dedicated to supporting our customers and delivering exceptional customer experience.

Jason is driven by a commitment to service and quality, he is passionate about creating and leading high-performance teams. Jason is also responsible for the London headquarters of Viasat.

Prior to Viasat, Jason was Chief Operations Officer of Inmarsat, and was responsible for business transformations focused on customer service, business improvement, and operational performance. He has held several senior operational and business roles in the defense and commercial nuclear sectors, including Rolls-Royce Nuclear, AWE, and BNFL.

Jason has a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from Glasgow University, and an MBA from Napier University.
